John Kirkbride and Ferdl Eichner - this duo stands for a unique intense musical partnership collecting its magic from two seemingly different characters:
on one side John, the matured globetrotter that performed on a wide variety of venues with major musical figures such as B.B. King, Eric Clapton, John Mayall, Procol Harum, Chuck Leavell, Alexis Korner, John Mayall, Pete Seeger, Joan Armatrading and many more. He is probably the only solo musician who can claim to have performed AFTER Motörhead, keeping a couple of thousand bikers entertained until the early hours.
On the other side Ferdl, who made himself a name as a bluesharp virtuoso and shared the stage with Louisiana Red, Abi Wallenstein, Frank Diez and Colin Hodgkinson, Hans Theessink, Dr. Will, Zither Manä and many others. He is also a session player in demand and was invited to many recording sessions. Instinctively he knows how to accompany John and always gives new ideas to their songs.
No matter if Ferdl joins John on the harmonica or both the play guitar or you hear a stompbox beating the rhythm, they create an exciting performance that fascinates the audience not only with the music but also with John´s humorous stories.
Their repertoire extends from multi-layered originals to unique interpretations of famous blues, folk- and rootsmusic that bear the unmistakable stamp of the two exceptional musicians in every aspect.
Not only their live-performances but also their recordings of CDs proof impressively their decades lasting connection: John´s superb fingerpicking and masterful slide-guitar playing and his unmistakable voice that some call "drenched in 100 liters of whiskey" and Ferdl´s virtuosity and feeling on the bluesharp.
